Two-factor authentication (2FA) for IMS Cloud

These days a password isn't enough to protect your online data. That's why we use two-factor authentication (2FA) as a second layer of protection. It involves entering a username and password, as well as a code only you have access to on your mobile device. This makes it harder for unauthorised people to get into your MYOB software.

2FA becomes mandatory on 9 November 2026

We will enforce 2FA for all IMS Cloud sites on 9 November 2026. You’ll be prompted to set up 2FA before you can log in to IMS Cloud.

This change does not affect IMS Desktop. You can continue signing into IMS Desktop with username and password only.

Review your licences – shared logins will no longer work

To get the security benefits of 2FA, you cannot share logins between users, including “generic” logins.

Every user needs their own IMS Cloud account connected to an authenticator app on their own mobile device, so you might need additional IMS Cloud licences. If you currently have multiple employees accessing IMS Cloud with one set of credentials, decide which of them should continue having access.

Download an authenticator app – email and SMS codes aren’t an option

You’ll need an authenticator app on a mobile device, like your smartphone or tablet. Authenticator apps are available on Google Play and Apple App Store.
