Error 1429: "OLE iDispatch exception"

When MYOB Exo Payroll is installed, a PDF Printer driver called 'MYOB PDF Converter' is installed as well. Printing a report to a Destination of File will use the MYOB PDF Converter to create the PDF output file.

When creating reports to PDF by setting the Destination to File, an 'Error 1429: OLE iDispatch Exception' message may occur. This error is normally caused by the MYOB PDF Converter printer driver not being registered in the Windows Operating System on the pc that is trying to create the file. Often the error is a result of a change made on the pc such as an update or an upgrade of the MYOB Exo software with insufficient rights.

To resolve the Error 1429 message, the following options are available. These options requires the user to be logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Adminstrator rights:

  • Run the network.exe file from the payroll directory. For further information, click here.
  • Reinstall the MYOB Exo Employer Services software over the existing install.
    • For further information on installing for New Zealand versions, click here.
    • For further information on installing for Australian versions, click here.
