User permission list

Can't onboard new hires? In version 8.5 (April 2022) we added a new View permission groups option that is required to send new onboarding invitations. To restore access to members of custom permission groups, add the new permission to any groups that need it.

This page lists all the permissions you can give user groups in MYOB Advanced Workforce Management for the different parts of the system. For information on how to assign these permissions to groups, see Managing permission groups.

It is strongly recommended that "View own employee profile" is given to all custom permission groups.

Leave requests and balances

View Leave Requests

  • Controls visibility of the Leave tile in the mobile app.

Approve leave requests

  • Enables Leave at the top navigation and Leave tile on the dashboard

  • Allows user to approve and decline leave request.

View leave balances

  • Allows user to see leave balance when adding / editing leave requests

  • Approve leave requests must be enabled.

Create and update leave requests

  • Allows user to add and update leave requests

  • Can add and update requests in their employee profile (requires View full employee information and Create and update employee permissions).

Business intelligence

  • Enables Business Intelligence link in Management dropdown

  • Allows user to use the functionalities within the BI section.

Document library

  • Allows user to see all shared documents.

Create and update documents in the document library

  • Allows user to see leave balances when adding or editing leave requests

  • Requires Approve leave requests permissions.

Employee details

  • Enables Employees link in Management dropdown

  • Populates employee dropdown lists in various screens.

View full employees information

  • Allow user to see most tabs in the employee profile screen

  • Required to be able to view employee profiles.

Create and update employees

  • Allows user to add and edit information in the available tabs in employee profile

  • Allows user to add and view sensitive documents on employee records.

  • Requires either View full employee information or View basic employees information permission

Archive employees

  • Allows user to hide employees from the front end and reports

View and Upload Sensitive Employee Documents

  • Allows access to sensitive documents against employees.

View and manage non-payrolled employee

  • Allows user to see and update non-payrolled employees.

  • Viewing requires either View full employee information or View basic employees information permission.

  • Updating requires Create and update employees permission.

View own employee profile

  • Enables My Profile link in Account dropdown and tile on dashboard.

  • Allows user to see, add and edit most tabs on their own profile.

View own employee roster

  • Allows user to see the Schedule tab on their own profile.

  • Requires View own employee permission.

  • Please note - if the Option "Allow employees to see full rosters" is set to YES then this allows employees to see rosters for all other staff at locations they can access.

View own employee shift requests

  • Allows user to see the Shift Request tab on their own profile.

  • Requires View own employee permission.

View own employee leave

  • Allows user to see the Leave & Unavailability tab on their own profile.

  • Allows user to add, edit and delete their own leave requests.

  • Requires View own employee permission.

View own employee expenses

  • Allows user to see the Expenses tab on their own profile.

  • Requires View own employee permission.

View Employee Licenses and Training

  • Allows access to the Requirements and Qualifications tab of employees.

  • This access is Read Only.

Create and Update Employee Licenses and Training

  • Gives access to Create and Update requirements/qualifications against employees.

  • Requires View Employee Licenses and Training permission.

Expense requests

  • Grants access to the Manage Expenses tile in the Mobile app.

  • Requires user to log on using Multi-factor authentication.

Manage Pay Runs

  • Enables Payroll link in Management dropdown and tile on dashboard.

  • Can access Payroll reporting (requires View reporting permission).

View reporting

  • Enables Reporting link in Management dropdown.

  • Makes the Employee and T&A report available.

  • Viewing the Payroll reports requires View Payroll Reporting permission.

  • Viewing the Analysis reports requires View Analytics Reports permission.

View analytics reports

  • Can access Analysis reporting (requires View reporting permission).

View settings

  • Enables Setting link in Management dropdown.

  • Includes Add Device, Download Clock Application and Blackout Period.

  • Adds a wide range of tiles to the Management > Settings screen.

View roster

  • Enables Roster at the top navigation.

  • Allows user to view shift schedule.

View roster and timesheets costings

  • Enables costing in Roster (requires View roster permission).

  • Enables costing in Time(sheet) (requires View and attendance permission).

Update and Publish Roster

  • Allows user to add and edit shifts, publish and unpublish shifts.

  • Requires View roster permission.

View time and attendance

  • Enables Time(sheet) at the top navigation.

Authorise timesheets for payroll

  • Enables user to authorise timesheets

  • Enables user to un-authorise timesheets (requires Approve timesheets permission)

  • Enables user to commit timesheets and submit them to payroll (requires Payroll management permission)

View templates

  • Allows user to view templates

Create, Update and Delete template

  • Allows user to add, edit, delete and apply shift templates.

  • Requires View templates permission.

View Permission Groups

  • Allows view of permission groups, required to be able to set Location Access for employees.

Create and Update Permission Groups

  • Allows creating/updating Permission Groups.

View Support Requests

  • Not yet fully implemented as of 24.5 release

  • Will allow a user to view what support requests have been made by MYOB Support for the site.

Grant or Revoke Support Requests

  • Not yet fully implemented as of 24.5 release

  • Will allow a user to grant or revoke access for support users to investigate site issues.
