Error: "1429 OLE iDispatch exception code" when emailing pay slips

ANSWER ID:11235

This error usually means there's a corrupt file on your computer that needs fixing, so we'll show you how to fix it.

 

To fix the corrupt file
  1. Access the list of printers installed on your computer:

    If you're usingDo this
    Windows 8 or 10Right-click in the bottom left corner of the screen and choose Control Panel, then click Devices and Printers.
    Windows 7Click the Windows Start button and choose Devices and Printers.
  2. In the list of installed printers, right-click MYOB AO PDF Generator and choose Delete.
  3. Click Yes to the confirmation message.
  4. Right-click the driver installation file (AmyPDFReinstall.exe) and choose to save it to your Payroll folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\Payroll).
  5. Simultaneously press the Windows

    and E keys on your keyboard (the Windows
    Image
    key is between the Ctrl and Alt keys). Your computer's folders and files are displayed.
  6. Open your Payroll folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\Payroll).
  7. Double-click the downloaded file (AmyPDFReinstall.EXE). The driver will be installed.
  8. When complete, click OK.

You should now be able to email your pay slips.


If the error persists

You will need to uninstall then reinstall Payroll.


To uninstall Payroll
  1. Close Payroll.
  2. Simultaneously press the Windows and E keys on your keyboard. (The Windows key is between the Ctrl and Alt keys). The Computer or Explorer window appears.
  3. Browse to the data files on C:\Users\Public\Data\MYOB\Payroll.
  4. Move the following folders/files and place them on your Desktop (right-click the file/folder and choose Cut then right-click on your Desktop and choose Paste):
    1. Payroll 1, Payroll 2, etc. (this/these are your main payroll files)
    2. License.WTL (this file carries your registration details)
  5. Access the list of programs installed on your computer:
    Windows 8 and later: Right-click in the bottom left corner of the screen and choose Programs and Features.
    Windows 7 and Vista: Click the Windows Start button then choose Control Panel, then click Programs and Features.
    Windows XP: Click the Windows Start button and choose Control Panel then click Add or Remove Programs.
  6. Click the Windows Start button and choose Control Panel then choose Add or Remove Programs.
  7. In the list of installed programs, click MYOB Payroll then click Uninstall/Change. In some Windows versions, this may be Change/Remove.
  8. Click Yes to the confirmation message.
  9. Follow the prompts to uninstall Payroll.
To reinstall Payroll

If you have a current support subscription, you can download the latest Payroll version from my.myob.co.nz. For more information see Downloading Payroll from my.MYOB.

To reinstall Payroll:

  1. Temporarily disable your anti-virus and firewall software. You can enable these again after the installation has finished.
  2. Close all programs on your computer.
  3. If you have the Payroll installation CD, place the CD into the CD/DVD drive on your computer and follow the prompts to install Payroll.
  4. If you have downloaded Payroll, right-click the downloaded installation file choose Run as administrator, then follow the prompts to install Payroll.

  5. Once Payroll has been installed, simultaneously press the Windows and E keys on your keyboard to open the Computer or Explorer window.
  6. Browse to C:\Users\Public\Data\MYOB\Payroll
  7. Move the folders/files from your Desktop (copied there in the previous task) and paste them back into the Payroll folder (right-click the file/folder and choose Cut then right-click on the Payroll folder and choose Paste):
    1. Payroll 1, Payroll 2, etc.
    2. License.WTL
  8. You will now be ready to open and use Payroll.
