Known issue: Preventing MyStaffInfo managers from approving own timesheets

The following issue has been identified and subsequently replicated by MYOB Exo Employer Services Support in the New Zealand release of Exo Payroll 2017.03. Also affects Australian release of Exo Payroll 2016.04, and MyStaffInfo Management Console version 2016.01.

Issue

At the MyStaffInfo website, employees can enter their own "Timesheet" data and submit to their Manager for approval. Approved data can down-load into Exo Payroll and "Post" into the employee's pay:

  • If Managers are not supposed to approve their own timesheets, normal practice is to remove them from their own "Employee Group" and place in a "Managers" Group (with someone else assigned to approve this Group).
  • Testing shows that Managers might still be able to approve their own Timesheets (although would be visible to person in charge of the "Managers" Group).

Workaround

Within the Console, could remove Manager's Timesheet security option to "Approve Employees". However, removes ability to approve line-by-line entries for their own team.

Resolution

This issue has been progressed through to Product Management via parent ticket 144049986350 for resolution in a future release.
