Known issue 2017.04: HELP not calculating on salary sacrifice superannuation deductions (Australia)

The following issue has been identified by MYOB Exo Support in Exo Payroll for the Australian version 2017.04.

Issue

Support have confirmed that when an employee has been setup with a Tax Scale that includes HELP and has an Employee Superannuation Deduction for Salary Sacrifice, the HELP component is lower than expected.

The HELP component is being calculated on the lower, post-Salary Sacrifice Gross Taxable Earnings figure when it should be calculating on the higher, pre-Salary Sacrifice Gross Taxable Earnings.

The ATO advises that reportable Superannuation Contributions are to be included in the Repayment Income (RI) that HELP is calculated on.

Workaround

Manually override the details in the PAYG screen of the pay.

Resolution

This issue has been progressed to Product Development under Service Request 154899637647 for resolution in a future release.
