Known issue 2015.01 (resolved): Error 20159 when posting to EXO Business

The following issue has been identified and subsequently replicated by MYOB Exo Employer Services Support in the New Zealand release of Exo Payroll version 2015.01.

This issue could be replicated by support in the 2014.04 version of Australian Exo Payroll. The issue as been reported in version 2015.01 although Support have been unable to replicate this. The issue was resolved in version 2015.01 by removing the apostrophe from a Superannuation item name.

Issue

Support has confirmed that when using the 'Post to Exo Business' option from the Reports menu, an "Error 2059 Unhandled Structured Exception" message can occur.

This message is caused by an item in the pay such as an Allowance, Deduction, Pay Rate Type, etc. that has a name containing "Special Characters" such as punctuation, e.g. an allowance called Clothing (w-w'thr) would cause this issue.

Possible alternative cause

If Exo Payroll has Cost centres that exceed 9 digits long, error 2059 might relate to an Exo Business field size. Client's Business Partner can confirm by checking the PAYRUN_LINES table and COSTCENTRE field. Datatype might be "int" and needs to be "bigint".

Workaround

Using only Letters (CAPITAL or lower case) and numbers (0-9) for names will prevent this issue.

Resolution

This issue has been progressed through to Product Management via parent ticket 119052489097 and was resolved in version 2016.01.
