Known issue 2014.04 (resolved): Lieu of notice payment in Employment Termination Payment screen altered by rounding (Australia)

The following issue has been identified and subsequently replicated by MYOB Exo Employer Services Support in Exo Payroll version 2014.04 for Australia.

Issue

Support has confirmed that for a "Terminating" employee who is receiving a 'Redundancy' payment that includes a cents figure as well as a 'In Lieu of Notice' payment the following occurs:

The "Cents" figure in the Redundancy payment will be rounded (up or down) to whole dollars
The "difference" is added to or subtracted from the Lieu of Notice amount

While each amount varies slightly, the total of both is unchanged.

When the "Include Payment in Lieu of Notice" option is not ticked then the Redundancy "Payment Amount" figure is not rounded.

Workaround

If the Redundancy Payment is entered in whole dollars (i.e. with no "Cents" amount), the figures will not be changed and there is no issue.

Otherwise, overwrite the "Lieu of Notice (Tax Free)" amount with the correct figure. The "Payment (Tax Free)" figure will then recalculate so that the Redundancy and Lieu of Notice figures will match what has been entered.

Resolution

This issue has been progressed through to Product Management via parent ticket 113244205828 for resolution in a future release and has been resolved in version 2015.01.
