Known issue 2014.01: SLCIR tax code not appearing on IR348 report after 2014.01 EXO Payroll update
The following issue has been identified and subsequently replicated by MYOB Support in Exo Payroll NZ version 2014.01.
Issue
Support has confirmed that the SLCIR tax code is not appearing on the IR348 report after upgrading to the 2014.01 NZ Payroll update.
Sometimes an Employee on student loan tax code may have to process an extra payment using the SLCIR tax code.
As per the IRD specifications, the SLCIR tax code should appear separately on the IR348 along with the employee’s name, IRD number, SLCIR in the tax code box and the amount of deductions in the ‘Student loan deductions’ box.
After the 2014.01 upgrade MYOB Employer Services Exo Payroll is deducting the correct amount under SLCIR tax code but when an IR348 report is generated the employee’s primary tax code is appearing instead of ‘SLCIR’ in tax code box.
In other words it is showing the same tax code twice on an IR348 report for employees on a Student Loan.
When uploading this IR report, the IRD website produces an ‘IR File Employer monthly schedule error report’.
The same issue will occur for the SLBOR tax code.
Workaround
After uploading the IR348 to the IRD Website a manual correction of the data is required directly on the IRD website. Please contact IRD directly if you require assistance to do this.
