Incorrect stock cost basis in job costing when changing to latest cost basis

Issue

In MYOB Exo Business, if you switch from the Average cost basis to the Latest cost basis in the Exo config > Profiles tab, you might see some changes as below:

  • The Quote tab shows Latest Cost: This is correct because the profile settings value is set to the Latest Cost.
  • The Cost tab shows Average cost. This is incorrect because the profile settings value is set to the Latest Cost.
  • The Direct Material entry window shows Average cost: This is incorrect because the profile settings value is set to the Latest Cost.

Cause

This happens when Perpetual stock is selected in Exo config > Essential > General Ledger > Gl Stock integration > Stock system.

Resolution

When using Perpetual stock, you should always choose Average cost for stock transactions as the perpetual stock system is always continuously updated.
