Known issues and quirks related to the Fixed Assets module.

Assets occasionally over depreciating if “Depreciate in year of sale” is used.

Issue ID: EXB-6698

An asset may over depreciate (go into negative value) if the setting Depreciate in Year of Sale” is ticked during the sale of an asset and the asset doesn’t hold enough value for the depreciation that would have happened in this year.
Workaround

• Dispose of the asset instead of sale, as asset disposal will correctly stop depreciating at 0 value.
  Or;

• Journal the value back in manually using a general ledger entry after the sale has been recorded.
