New features

Preventing payslips being created for multiple payrolls at once

This feature was originally introduced in service pack 1 for version 2024.2.

There was an issue that could affect companies with Exo Payroll installed in multiple folders – e.g. different folders for NZ payroll and AU payroll. Creating payslips for multiple payrolls at once could cause an employee to receive another employee’s payslip.

To resolve the issue, we’ve added a new checkbox: Prevent users creating payslips for multiple payrolls at once. If you have multiple payrolls, you need to select this checkbox for all payroll companies.

If a user tries creating payslips for one payroll while payslips are already being created for another, they get a message to wait until the first lot of payslips are finished.

  • For New Zealand companies, the checkbox is on the Special Options Setup screen.

  • For Australian companies, the checkbox is on the Other tab of the Setup Payroll screen.

We’ve also added the option to choose a Lock file location. The lock file is what Exo Payroll uses to prevent payslips being created for multiple payrolls at once.

If you don’t choose a location, a folder is created automatically the next time a user creates payslips.
