Setting up two-factor authentication as a new user

Logging in for the first time or after support has removed your old phone device

When logging in to the PayGlobal Online for the first time, you need to set a new password for yourself.
Note: this is the same process after support has removed your old phone device.

To set your new password
Before following these instructions, make sure you've received your login details for PG Online Services.
  1. Go to the PayGlobal Online Access Portal.
  2. Enter your Email address and Password. You'll see a message telling you to change your password.
  3. To set your new password, click here in the message.
  4. Complete the fields.

To meet complexity requirements, your password:

    • Must not contain your account name or more than two consecutive characters of your full name.
    • Must be at least seven characters long.
    • Cannot be any of your previous 24 passwords.
    • Must contain characters from three of these four categories: uppercase (A to Z), lowercase (a to z), numerical (0 to 9), special (e.g. !, $, #, %).
  5. Click Submit. You'll see a message telling you password has been successfully changed.
  6. To return to the login screen, click OK.

Setting up two-factor authentication

After setting a new password and logging in, you'll see a message telling you to set up two-factor authentication.

When you log into PayGlobal with two-factor authentication, you need to verify your identity by using a second device, like a mobile phone. This makes your account more secure, because even if someone knows your password, they can't log in without access to your second device.

You can choose what device you want to use for two-factor authentication, either:

  • mobile phone
  • landline.

If you'll be working away from your office, it's better to use a mobile phone for two-factor authentication.

To set up mobile phone two-factor authentication
  1. Log in to the PayGlobal Online Access Portal. You'll see a message telling you to set up two-factor authentication.

  2. Click Start setup.
  3. Select Mobile phone and click Continue.

After you add your mobile phone, it's recommended that you add another device. You can see the Duo guide for more information on adding and removing devices.

  4. Change country as required and enter the number you will use to verify the account.
  5. Select how you want to receive a one-time code to continue.
  6. Select your phone type.
  7. Continue to launch the app.
  8. Open Duo Mobile and tap the “+” button to scan the barcode.
  9. Choose your preferred settings.

  10. Change Device name, reactivate DUO mobile if needed & Add another device.
  11. Confirm which authentication method you want moving forward.
    • DUO Push is recommended for ease of use. This will send a ‘push’ notification to your mobile. You must ensure you have your phone nearby, unlocked and ready to ‘Approve’ the push notification. You must also ensure you do not block notifications from DUO on your mobile for this to work.
    • Alternatively, select 'Call this device' and you will receive an automated phone call with the code to enter for authentication.
  12. Select “Continue to Login”.
Logging in with Duo

First approval

  • After ‘Continue to Login’ – the first 2FA authentication is required, recommend ticking ‘remember me’ here. Select whether you want a Push/Call.

Second approval

  • When you select ‘StartPayGlobal’, the ‘Starting your app’ box will appear and a 2nd DUO authentication will be required. You should get another push notification or phone call based on what you chose earlier. Approve from your phone / enter code as required, and then the database selection drop-down box will appear for you to login to the database.
