ESS SSO error: “The authentication process did not complete successfully. contact your administrator.”

The following are the recommended things to check when an employee gets "The authentication process did not complete successfully" error on login:

Employee has no termination date or planned termination date in the past.

The employee’s default and active appointment record has a current start and no end dates

The Self Service enabled field on the Self-Service tab of the employee’s record is set to “Yes”.

The employee’s Work E-mail address field is correct. Be wary of spaces before or after the email address

The employee’s Work E-mail address is not shared by any other employees.

If the above do not explain the cause of the error then the next step would be to ask the IT team to check that the AD setup is correct for the employee affected and specifically, to ensure that the AD setup has the correct Work e-mail address populated and that AD and PayGlobal match in this regard.
