Unable to post a pay period from EXO Time and Attendance to EXO Payroll

MYOB Exo Time and Attendance is used to determine the hours to pay an employee based on the times received from a Time Clock. These hours to be paid can be posted from MYOB Exo Time and Attendance to MYOB Exo Payroll, minimising the amount of work required to be done.

When posting a pay period from MYOB Exo Time and Attendance to MYOB Exo Payroll, the Post button in the "Post to Payroll" screen could be greyed out so it cannot be used or the Posting process cannot complete as the Current Pay is not open.

To deal with the above situations follow the steps below.

Step 1: Confirm that the pay period has been created

If the pay period in "Pay Period Times" has not been created, then the Posting process has no information to post.

To check that the pay period has been created do one of the following:

  • Click on Step 4 "Pay Period Times" in the Time Cycle screen
  • Click on the "Transactions" menu then click on "Pay Period Times".
  • Click on the "Pay Period Times" toolbar icon

If the "Pay Period Times" screen appears with the "Create New Pay" button being active then the pay period has not been created.

Step 2: Confirm that the current pay in MYOB Exo Payroll has been opened

If the Current Pay is not open then the Posting process cannot post as there is no open pay to put the information into.

To check that the Current Pay has been opened do one of the following:

  • Click on Step 5 "Open Current Pay" in the Time Cycle screen and check if the "Create New Pay" button is active or greyed out
  • Change to the Exo Payroll module then click on the "Pay" menu then select "Current Pay". Check if the "Create New Pay" button or the "Edit Pay" button is active.

If the "Create New Pay" button is greyed out then the Current Pay has been created.
