Text is hard to read in some program screens

This is an unusual situation that might happen after moving to a new computer running Windows 7, or after adding a new computer screen and adjusting display settings.

"Description" text might be truncated or over-written in some screens (but not all) in one or more modules (eg Exo Payroll, Exo Time and Attendance, etc). The same might happen in related programs (eg ClockComms), as well as programs from other vendors.

The following section has advice on identifying the issue, together with correction options.

Situations that might appear similar but have different causes

If all Programs and text (not just parts of some screens) appear too small, or too large, this is not the issue covered below. Instead, try using Microsoft Windows display options to adjust the "Screen Resolution" or "Make text and other items larger or smaller". If unsure where to find these settings, ask your own IT support for assistance.


Here is an example (from the Exo Time and Attendance module) of the issue covered by this article:

The "jumbled" text relates to the way Windows 7 "scales" some fonts. Normal display options (e.g. changing screen resolution, or using "Make text and other items larger or smaller") will make no difference.

These articles suggest editing Windows "Registry" settings and we strongly recommend asking your own IT support for assistance. Changes to registry settings can lead to other issues and MYOB cannot accept responsibility for resulting problems.
