Setting up reportable employer superannuation contributions (Australia)

Employer Superannuation Contributions made for an employee are reportable where all of the following apply:

  • your employee influenced the rate or amount of super you contribute for them
  • the contributions are additional to the compulsory contributions you must make under any of the following:
    • super guarantee law
    • an industrial agreement
    • the trust deed or governing rules of a super fund
    • a federal, state or territory law.
To set up reportable employer superannuation contribution (RESC)
  1. From the main menu go to Maintenance > Superannuations or press F2 > Superannuations
  2. Click Add:F4 to add a new Superannuation item
  3. A Superannuation Maintenance screen will appear > Select Employee or Employer Superannuation
  4. Put in the a code in the code field
  5. Select the Contribution Type > In the box next to this named RESC put a tick in the box ( this will now report this Superannuation Contribution)
  6. If % of Gross Pay is selected then input the % amount and if Fixed Dollar Amount is selected then input the $ value
  7. Give this Superannuation item a name eg: AMP Super RESC
  8. Select the Superannuation Provider
  9. Put in the Cost Centre if you have one.
  10. Click Save or press F10 > Exit:Esc
  11. You can now assign this Superannuation to your employees Standard Pay if it is a regular contribution or to the employees Current Pay/One Off Pay for one off contributions.
