Setting up a new pay rate type (New Zealand)

At times companies use different Pay Rates in the pays and have these appear separately from the Ordinary pay rate on the payslips. MYOB Exo Payroll can have up to 9 different Pay Rate types setup.

When a new company is added to MYOB Exo Payroll, four default Pay Rates are automatically setup. These Pay Rates can be altered as desired.

To set up a new pay rate
  1. Log into the payroll company
  2. Click on Utilities from the Menu bar then select Setup Exo Payroll
  3. Click on Setup Page 2 and the Pay Rate Types appear on the right
  4. Select an Undefined pay rate and enter a new description
  5. Enter the pay rate multiplier in the Rate field, i.e. if the rate is for time and a quarter then the multiplier should be entered as 1.25
  6. If this Pay Rate Type is liable for superannuation schemes, other than Kiwisaver, then tick Pay Super
  7. Ticking the Auto Load option will add this Pay Rate Type to the Standard Pay screen when a new employee is added
  8. Tick the Pay KiwiSaver field for this Pay Rate Type to be included in the Kiwisaver calculations
  9. Click on the Save:F10 button or press F10 to save these settingsThe new Pay Rate is now ready to be used in Payroll.
