Manually polling times for TR2 or TR3 clocks

When a polling is done the times are extracted from the clock then are assigned to the employees in Exo Time and Attendance. The times are stored in the software as well as to a file that contains the 'raw' clockings from the TR2 or TR3 time clocks.

As of 2010, MYOB Exo ES Support do not provide support for TR2 and TR3 time clocks as these clocks are no longer supported by MYOB.

In some circumstances, when times are not showing up in Exo Time and Attendance then they may have been retrieved from the clock/s but have not pulled into Exo Time and Attendance successfully. In these cases, if the historical text file can be found with the missing times in it then they can be manually polled into the software.

To manually poll a historical file
  1. Navigate to the Payroll folder, e.g. Payrollv. If unsure of this location it can be found by checking the 'Installed In' details on the About screen or by right clicking on the Payroll shortcut on the desktop then selecting Properties. The Target line will show the location of the Payroll folder.
  2. Find the file which holds the times. Usually these files start with T then have a few numbers and the last numbers are the Clock Code which can be checked under Utilities> Timeclock Setup, e.g. t1000001.tr3.
  3. Rename this file to be called Data.Dat - the same name as appears in the Time File Name field of the clock in Time Clock Setup. Note: Only one file can be polled at a time.
  4. In the software go into Utilities > Time Clock Setup > Select the TR3 or TR2 clock in question. Make a note of the Program to Execute and then clear this field out and click Save. Repeat this process for each TR2 and/or TR3 clock appearing in Time Clock Setup.
  5. Poll the timeclocks and the Status should show Ok. If there is more than one TR2 and/or TR3 clock then one should show OK and the others should fail - this is correct and nothing to worry about.
  6. Check that the times have come through to Exo Time and Attendance. This can be done by running the Daily Attendance Report and/or checking Maintain Times.
  7. Repeat Step 2 to Step 6 for each historical file to be repolled.
  8. Reset the 'Program to Execute' for all of the TR2 and/or TR3 clocks under Utilities > Time Clock Setup with what was noted in Step 4.
