Information about the MyStaffInfo company number

In a Payroll install there can be multiple companies. When MyStaffInfo has been installed, each payroll company will show a number specific to that company which is then used by employees when logging onto the MystaffInfo website.

The MyStaffInfo company number is made up of two parts being the Licence Number of the MYOB Exo Employer Services software and the number assigned to the payroll company in the software.

Example: Licence number is 1001 and the number assigned to the payroll company is 3 so the MSI company number will be 10013.

The number assigned to the payroll company comes from the PAYROLLS.DBF file.

If the MyStaffInfo company number changes in the MyStaffInfo Console screen, this is normally due to the following reasons:

  • A new payroll company has been created in the existing Payroll software and a backup of the company data was restored to this new company. This new company will have been assigned a new number in the Payroll software.
  • A new install of the Payroll software has been done, such as to a new server. This often causes a change of number for the payroll company as it is added in a different order in the new install than it was in the original install.
  • A number has been entered in the Sales= line in the MyStaffInfo Connection Settings section of the Preferences screen. This number will appear in the company number field of the MyStaffInfo Console for each payroll company in the install.

If a number has been entered in the Sales= line in the MyStaffInfo Connection Settings screen, that number should be removed. This will allow each payroll company to show a unique Company number.

When either of the other two situations have occurred, contact the client's relevant Business Partner. Direct clients with a support plan can contact MYOB Exo Support. Otherwise contact MYOB Exo Professional Services for chargeable assistance.

In the PAYROLLS.DBF file the number assigned to the company can be changed. If the number is being changed to a number that has already been assigned to another company in the software then the numbers of both companies will need to be altered.

Professional Services can change the company number of the site on the MSI Server or make the alteration of the company number in the PAYROLLS.DBF file.

When a new MyStaffInfo company is to be setup for accessing on the internet, the Professional Services team will arrange this. A Support Report needs to be sent to the Professional Services team detailing which company is to be setup. The Support Report contains the Licence number and the company number required for setting up the company.
