Fixing error 108

When MYOB Exo Employer Services software is running, files are used as required by the software. If a file is already in use when the software tries to use that file then errors can occur such as the Error 108.

When an Error 108 message occurs, there are several options that can be followed to deal with the error.

The options detailed below are in no particular order.

  • Exit the software by clicking on the Exit Software button in the error screen then restart the software and retry what was being done when the error initially occurred. This can be done several times.
  • Exit the software by clicking on the Exit Software button in the error screen and make sure there are no other copies of the MYOB Exo Employer Services software running on the pc. Close any other copies if any are found then restart the software and retry what was being done when the error initially occurred.
  • Exit the software, close all programs running on the pc then restart the pc. After the pc has restarted then start the software and retry what was being done when the error initially occurred.
  • Close all copies of the MYOB Exo Employer Services software on all pc's that the software is running on then restart the software and retry what was being done when the error initially occurred.
  • Close all copies of the MYOB Exo Employer Services software on all pc's that the software is running on. Once the copies have all been closed then get IT to check on the server for any open files from the MYOB Exo Employer Services software. If any files are found to be open then IT should close those files and once the files have been closed then restart the software on the pc, retry what was being done when the error initially occurred and see what happens.
