Error: "Costcentre integrity problem. Press any key and Reindex"

A default Cost Centre is allocated to employees on the Employee Maintenance window. Sometimes changes in the system requires updates of these default settings.

When using the "Next:F8" or "Previous:F7" buttons on the Employee Maintenance window, error messages such as the "Costcentre integrity problem" can occur due to the system not being able to find a Cost Centre code that's been assigned to an employee. This error message indicates that the employees Default Cost Centre does not exist in the system.

Having an incorrect Cost Centre in the system can also create problems with reporting, e.g. the Hours Analysis report can only print payroll information for those employees who have been assigned to existing Cost Centres which leaves everyone else out and ultimately produces incorrect totals.

To rectify this issue, we recommend updating all Default Cost Centres on the Employee Maintenance window to existing codes. Once the Default Cost Centres have been updated then do a File Reindex from the Utilities menu to reset the links between files.
