Adjusting a casual's holiday pay in the current pay (New Zealand)

Holiday Pay may not calculate the amount correctly in the current pay if the following were not set up appropriately:

  • holiday pay
  • allowance setup.
To check the holiday pay setup
  1. Click on Employee Maintenance, select the appropriate employee and click on the Holiday Pay tab.
  2. Ensure the "Annual Entitlement %" is correct and that the "Pay Casual Holiday Pay Each Pay" is ticked.
  3. When the option is selected, the following message box appears confirming the selection. Click Yes to confirm this selection.
To check the allowance setup

Incorrect allowance setups would also affect the accuracy of the holiday pay calculation in the current pay.

  1. Click on the Maintenance menu then select Allowances
  2. Select the appropriate allowance(s) being used in the pay.
  3. Add to Gross for Holiday Pay

    Any taxable allowance would normally be included for Holiday Pay. If in doubt, consult the New Zealand at Work website or helpline (0800 20 90 20).
