Known issue 2017.2: GL—BalanceSheet Account with no B/S type is merged to P/L account if EXOConfig > Essential > GL setting is updated

The following issue has been identified and subsequently replicated by MYOB Support in Exo Business version 2017.2

Before upgrading your clients please take into consideration the following issues especially if the site has specific requirements in these areas.

As always we recommend that thorough testing in a non-live environment is undertaken before commencing an upgrade.


If a GL Account section is setup as ‘Balance Sheet’ with no Balance Sheet type selected, any changes made to the EXO Config > Essential > GL, EXO recalculates and updated GL accounts based on their BALANCE_SHEET_TYPE and forces their SECTION to match.
