MYOB Acumatica — Workforce Management 24.8, August 2024

With version 24.8 we’ve made demand-based rostering more useful by giving you more control over staffing for brief sales forecast spikes with minimum shift utilisation, and more transparent by allowing you to compare demand-based template hours to what was rostered and actual staffing levels.

What's new?

More efficient demand-based rostering with minimum shift utilisation

To help you avoid overstaffing for relatively brief “rush” periods, you can now set the number of hours in a day that a peak sales level must be reached before staffing is increased.

For example, a restaurant has a brief week-day lunch rush for an hour a day, which they can adequately staff by requiring staff take breaks outside this time period. On the weekends, however, rushes can be longer, and more staff are required.

To take this into account, they edit their demand-based roster template and set the Minimum shift ultilisation to 2, so at least two hours of the day must meet the higher forecasted sales level before shifts are added.

Compare demand-based template hours against rostered and actual hours

To help you manage budget overruns and understaffing, you can now compare the hours generated by your demand-based roster template against the actual and rosted hours for each location.

To report on template hours, add a single-day roster demand template to each location then apply a demand-based template from the Roster screen. Template hours will show in the Hours panel in Business Intelligence, and in the table and graph breakdowns on the Roster screen.

Other changes

  • We’ve made it clearer when the onboarding process is complete, as some users weren’t clicking Submit after signing the final declaration.

  • To help reduce data-entry errors for New Zealand sites, BSB numbers are now validated against a list of New Zealand banks when entering bank account numbers. Australian sites already had this validation set up.

  • Improved error messages in importers.
