Managing Fair Work modern awards with MYOB Acumatica — Agreements Library (early access)

Fair Work modern awards are the legal documents that outline the minimum pay rates and conditions of employment for employees doing specific jobs in Australia. They cover things like base hourly rates, overtime, penalty rates and allowances.

The agreements library is currently only available to a limited number of sites. If you would like to register your interest, contact your MYOB Acumatica consultant.

MYOB Acumatica — Workforce Management includes a library of predefined agreements that cover the components of some of these awards. This makes it easier to stay compliant, simplifies the process of setting up new employees, and helps you interpret awards to calculate the minimum legal pay.

Using an agreement to manage a Fair Work modern award

To start using an award, an agreement will be added to your site by your MYOB Acumatica partner. If necessary you can customise the agreement to align with your enterprise bargaining agreement (EBA) or to pay above the award minimum.

Once all the setup is done, you can select the award as an agreement when onboarding or adding new employees or updating existing ones.

Fair Work modern agreement library FAQs

Does using an agreement from the library guarantee I will be compliant with Fair Work award requirements?

No software provider can assure full compliance. The library is intended to simplify the implementation of applicable legal obligations through automation, but it is not a replacement for payroll or legal consultation. It does not relieve you of your duty to meet the legal obligations relevant to your business.

In the end, it remains the individual responsibility of each customer to ensure their employees are paid accurately and in accordance with all legal requirements.

What awards does the agreement library cover? Does it cover EBAs?

The MYOB Acumatica library includes a set of agreements that cover a number of Fair Work modern awards.

We’re adding to the awards covered by the library, with a focus on those commonly used in the retail, wholesale, manufacturing and construction industries. Check with your consultant for the lastest list.

It does not cover enterprise bargaining agreements (EBAs), and by default all agreements are configured to provide the minimum rates of the applicable award. However, you can customise the agreements for these situations.

Where do I set the rate of pay for the award?

Agreements do not determine your employees' hourly rates. You need to specify their rate separately, either when onboarding them or through their employee record.

How do I stay up to date with changes to awards?

We'll update the agreement library when Fair Work make changes to the awards, however those changes will not automatically apply to your copy of the award.

To update your existing employees, you will be able to make a new copy of the updated agreement, customise it as required, then apply it to the employees that are covered by that award. Otherwise, employees will stay on the old version of the award.
