Using a system email account with Google 2-Step Verification

Some users cannot use their MYOB Advanced system email account after they turn on Google 2-Step Verification because they cannot enter the authentication code.

To fix this you need to set up an app password.

  1. Log into your Google account.
  2. Generate an app password.
    • Select the Other (Custom Name) app and give it the name MYOB Advanced.

  3. Go back to the MYOB Advanced system email account, and replace your current system email account password with the password that Google generated.
  4. Test your connection – you can now use your system email account with Google 2-Step Verification turned on.
